What is pediatric flat foot?
Foot & ankle specialists
Flat feet is common in both children and adults. When this deformity occurs in children, it is called “pediatric flat foot”. Although there are various forms of flat feet, they all share one characteristic; the partial or total drop of the arch of the foot.
Pediatric flatfoot can be classified as symptomatic or asymptomatic. Symptomatic flatfoot has symptoms such as pain and activity limitation, whereas asymptomatic flatfoot has no symptoms. These classifications can help your foot and ankle doctor determine an appropriate treatment plan.
