What are the signs and symptoms of athlete's foot in children?

Cases of athlete's foot range from a mild annoyance to something really uncomfortable. A child with athlete's foot may have a rash that itches and burns. Other signs include the following:
lumps on the feet
cracked, scaling, peeling, or blistered areas, often between the toes
redness and scaling on the soles of the feet
the skin between the toes may appear whitish and have an unpleasant odor
a rash or rash that spreads to the arch (the inner side of the foot)
raw skin from scratching (try not to scratch!)
Athlete's foot can spread to other parts of the foot, including the toenails. It can also infect other parts of the body, such as the groin (known as jock itch) and armpits, but this only happens when the person scratches the infection and then touches those parts of the body.
